Editorial standards

Useful local guidance begins with verifiable facts.

DuPage Well is building a resident-first publishing standard for local trails, businesses, events, and community resources.

Source the claim

Addresses, hours, costs, event details, trail information, accessibility notes, and business facts must trace to an official source or a clearly labeled primary interview.

Show when it was checked

Published articles display a last verified date. Time-sensitive facts are reviewed again before updates.

Separate draft from published

Draft and Needs Verification records cannot enter public search, sitemaps, RSS, or article routes.

Use photography honestly

A place photograph is never labeled as that place until its identity, licensing, and credit are confirmed.

Avoid medical claims

Food and wellness coverage uses practical, non-medical language and never diagnoses, treats, or promises outcomes.

Correct the record

Readers can submit a correction. Substantive changes update the article and its verification date.
